Michelle Cyril
Specialist in neurodivergent children and teen' sleep
Experienced sleep consultant, children’s nurse and mum of two neurodivergent children who knows first-hand how exhausting and lonely sleep struggles can feel.
Bedtime had become tense and unpredictable. Baths and showers were being refused, and brushing teeth felt like a nightly battle. I felt like I was treading on egg shells, trying to prevent a meltdown, while bedtime crept later and later.
I knew what the textbooks said about bedtime routines and children’s sleep, but my own neurodivergent children – with their Autistic and PDA profiles, sensory needs and ADHD brains – the “standard” sleep advice wasn’t working. I reached a point where I felt completely out of answers and utterly worn down.
That experience is what led me to specialise in sleep support for neurodivergent children and teens.
Today, I bring together my nearly 30 years as a children’s nurse with advanced paediatric sleep training and my own lived experience as a parent of two neurodivergent children.
My work is rooted in evidence-based practice, enriched by neuro-affirming principles, so that Autistic, PDA and ADHD children can feel safer and get more sleep at night – and parents can finally breathe, knowing they have the right support and they don’t have to do this on their own anymore.
